{The Next Cool Event} back in February was a BLAST!
Hello everyone and “Happy Almost End Of Summer” to you all!
Did you think I stopped Blogging as my absence has been for months? I feel like it with all that has happened in my world. To start, I am sorry to post my thoughts about The Next Cool Event so late but my Blog was down for a while due to our move. To catch everyone up to today of my happenings let me being, well, at the beginning of 2012.
My husbands job needed him here in Charleston, SC so we moved from Atlanta in January. As you can see below, I really cannot “complain” as my husband politely says (wink wink). So this is our new home (for now) and it is quite lovely. We live in the building to the right. Our girls knew it well as we stayed with Dave (CEO/FranchiseClique) when visiting the last two years as they grew the company (thanks Dave). Basically, Guy would come for business meetings and we would come for what else, THE BEACH!

In January, we really worked on getting Guy up and running in the office with his team and the girls situated in their {new} schools. This was more work than we thought. Lots and lots of tears about missing Atlanta (ps…mom had a lot too…shhh…but after 18 years there it was my home). I worked with Guy and Dave to get their office finished out with their brand attached. As well, I was traveling back/forth to Atlanta as I have client work there (I work anywhere) and was busy setting up office #2 in SC (keeping #1 Atlanta office). Then, POOF, the end of school was on our doorstep. I knew I needed to make a true {mom} decision here, that I needed to spend this summer with my kids (due to our move). As well, I knew it would be my last one with Noella as a little girl as she begins Kindergarten this month (Amelia begins 3rd). Being a very hands on mom and trying to have a career with kids this age is tough but I truly feel my family comes first ~ they are everything!
So, that is my personal life update and now onto Milieu Design Group news! Backing up to February for a minute the The Next Cool Event in February was a {BLAST}! All the sets were finished out to the “9″! The exhibitors/creatives and of course, the guests, all had a wonderful time both evenings! Thank you to Barbara English for hosting another year of really creative talent, all under one roof, in our big city of Atlanta! If you didn’t attend, we hope to see you there next year!
I will share a few images of the AVI/Marvin Windows Set & Stage that I was Set Designer for. We had the {best} team this year as everyone pitched in and helped where there was help to be had, we all found a source. Jelani and his brother of J.Linder Design and Consultants were our Landscape Designers and did a wonderful job placing plants and trees, making our space feel like it walked right out of the movie. True team players and that makes a beautiful event space at the end of the day! Thanks to everyone on our team ~ I am so happy to have worked with each of you!
